Krowd app on an phone

The Krowd app was developed by the UK Home Office in response to the Manchester terror attacks in 2017, and was designed to help visitors in crowded places to report suspicious activity to on-site security teams.

Developed by KrowdThink, Dr Gomer was head-hunted to work as a consultant on the app due to his expertise in UX design, and contributed to the planning and design of many of the app's key features.

Although the app was built across a wider team, Dr Gomer's influence brought in many design ideas inspired by social media, such as setting out key buttons within the 'thumb zone', and considering the maximum number of steps to complete an action.
